Becoming a Ruuby therapist is straightforward and typically takes two to four weeks from application to your first booking. Apply online via the Ruuby website, submit your documents (qualifications, insurance, DBS where applicable and ID), complete a short video interview with the Ruuby team, then a practical trial treatment to confirm your work meets Ruuby's five-star standard. Once approved, we set up your profile, train you on the app and arrange your first booking.

Yes — it's completely free to be featured on the Ruuby app. There are no joining fees, monthly fees or platform subscriptions for therapists. Ruuby earns a commission on completed bookings, with full rates shared during onboarding.

You'll need qualifications in your discipline, valid Public Liability Insurance, an up-to-date DBS certificate (UK only) and proof of professional experience. Region-specific requirements, such as a UAE freelance permit, apply in some markets and are listed in our Ruuby Requirements section.

Ruuby works with self-employed hairstylists, massage therapists, nail technicians, facialists, makeup artists, lash and brow specialists, waxing and spray tan experts, and wellness professionals including yoga, Pilates and personal training. Ruuby operates across four markets: the United Kingdom (London, Surrey, Manchester and the Cotswolds), Switzerland (Zurich, Geneva, St. Moritz and Gstaad), the South of France (Saint-Tropez, Cannes, Nice, Monaco, Antibes and the wider Côte d'Azur) and the UAE (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Ajman).

Your earnings depend on your discipline, tier, location and how many bookings you take. Ruuby manages all client billing, payment processing and invoicing — you complete the treatment and receive your earnings by direct bank transfer on a regular schedule. Full payment terms, frequency and commission rates are shared during onboarding.

Most therapists receive their first booking within two to four weeks of full onboarding, depending on discipline, location and tier. Hairstylists, manicurists and massage therapists in central London typically see the fastest start; specialist disciplines and newer regions can take a little longer to build steady demand.

Yes — you'll need your own kit and equipment for the treatments you offer. Ruuby therapists arrive at every booking fully equipped to deliver salon-quality services in clients' homes, hotels and offices.

Yes. Ruuby is a non-exclusive platform — you're free to work with other clients, salons or platforms alongside Ruuby. Many of our therapists run their own private client lists, work in salons part-time, or work with multiple platforms while building their Ruuby business.

Working with Ruuby is self-employed. You're your own boss — you set your own schedule, choose the bookings you take, and grow your business with the support of the Ruuby team, without the overheads of running a salon.

Once onboarded, therapists sit within one of three tiers based on experience, credentials and client feedback. Classic therapists are trusted, highly skilled professionals delivering a consistently excellent standard. Elite therapists are highly experienced specialists offering an elevated experience, expert technique and exceptional attention to detail. Celebrity therapists are the industry's most sought-after, with credentials spanning VIP clients, luxury brands and editorial work. Progression is based on performance, client feedback and experience over time.

Yes — Ruuby operates across the UK, Switzerland, France and the UAE. Therapists with the right to work in more than one market can extend their season — for example, supplementing London bookings with the alpine winter season in St. Moritz and Gstaad, or Dubai's busy winter months. Let the team know during onboarding if you're interested in working across regions.

Every therapist has direct access to the Ruuby support team for booking queries, scheduling and any client issues. We also provide ongoing brand training, partnership opportunities and feedback to help you grow your client base.

Ruuby operates a clear cancellation and no-show policy that protects therapists' time. Compensation for late cancellations and no-shows is built into the platform terms and shared during onboarding.
